The Zero-to-One Moment: Building a Visual Novel with an All-AI Pipeline
We’ve all heard the buzzwords: "AI is going to replace artists," or "AI is just a tool." But what happens when you stop treating AI as a sidekick or an enemy and start using it as the core engine of creation?
For my first major project, I’m stepping into the deep end.
I am officially announcing the development of my first visual novel, built in the RenPy engine. But there is a twist. This isn't just a story; it’s a social experiment in creative efficiency. Every single facet of this project, from the narrative bones to the final frame, is being architected through Artificial Intelligence.
- The Story: Generated through sophisticated LLM prompting.
- The Art: Every character, background, and sprite rendered via AI image generators.
- The Motion: Using AI to breathe life into static visuals through animation.
- The Soundscape: Composed and textured through AI audio synthesis.
This is a journey into what a "Solo Creator" can achieve when the barrier between imagination and execution is virtually erased.
The Roadmap:
This isn't just a reveal; it's a blueprint. Over the coming weeks, I will be releasing a series of deep-dive tutorials. I’ll show you exactly which tools I’m using, the prompts that actually work, and how to stitch these disparate AI outputs into a cohesive, playable experience in Ren’Py.
Stay tuned: the full breakdown of the tech stack and the "How To" guides will be posted right here on the site soon.
